ARLEE LEONARD is a jazz/neo-soul vocalist and songwriter whose crossover appeal expands the loyal fan base that she established as a virtuosic, improvising jazz artist.  She is one of the truly elite vocalists performing today. “Her voice crackles with life…Arlee has many talents, and is not afraid to use them,” says John Barrett, Jr., in JazzImprov.

The Arlee Leonard Group is a sizzling showcase for Arlee’s unique 4-octave range, pure tone, tasteful interpretations, and swinging scat solos.  The band’s music flows easily from jazz standards to grooving originals in which she shares her stories and outlook on life.  Arlee embodies the essence of a soulful singer-songwriter as she weaves moods with blues, bossa novas, ballads, New Orleans favorites, the classic style of jazz singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, and covers of popular songs she loves.

Arlee’s CD, Wild Honey (SolaJazz Records) includes seven originals and distinctive arrangements of five classics by some of her favorite composers.  Arlee assembled some of New York’s finest talent for the recording, including Don Braden, Marcus Printup, Miri Ben-Ari, Eric Lewis, Freddie Bryant, and Dwayne Burno.

Arlee currently travels the world, receiving praise from critics and audiences alike, headlining in Europe, Asia, Canada and across the U.S.  Arlee maintains home bases in both New York City and New Orleans, and has performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, JVC Jazz Festival, and at the major clubs in both New Orleans and New York City.
