ADAM KOLKER, Sunnyside Records artist, is an amazingly captivating jazz composer, tenor saxophonist, flutist and clarinetist, and the leader of the ADAM KOLKER QUARTET FEATURING JOHN ABERCROMBIE and the ADAM KOLKER QUARTET FEATURING BILLY HART.
ADAM KOLKER'S brilliant new CD, Reflections (Sunnyside Records), features guitarist John Abercrombie, pianist Russ Lossing, bassist John Hebert, drummer Billy Mintz, and vocalists Judi Silvano and Kay Matsukawa. Kolker's previous CD, Flag Day (Sunnyside Records) features John Abercrombie, John Hebert, and the recently departed jazz giant, Paul Motian, on drums.
Kolker has toured the world as the longtime featured soloist with the Ray Barretto Orchestra, and appears on five of Barretto's CDs, performing alongside such greats as James Moody, Joe Lovano, Steve Turre, Kenny Burrell and Eddie Gomez.
Kolker also performs with fellow Sunnyside Records and Scott Foster Management artist Jamie Baum's group, Yard Byard, devoted to the music of the great jazz composer/pianist Jaki Byard.
